Initial Information for Patients

Dear patients, 

We are very happy that you have chosen to explore the services offered at the OVID Clinic Berlin. 

At the OVID Clinic Berlin, we are pleased to offer you three treatment options: 

• The Outpatient Clinic (available Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm by appointment) 

• The bilingual Day Clinic (German and English, Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm) 

• The English-language Evening Clinic (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5:30 am to 9:00 pm) 

Day Clinic - Coverage of Cost

The OVID Clinic Berlin is a private Day Clinic in the process of being recognized by the German Association of Private Health Insurers. The costs of treatment in our Day and Evening Clinics are generally covered in full by private health insurance, but conditions can vary depending on your insurance provider and conditions. 

For patients eligible for public service state assistance (“Beihilfe”), costs are typically shared between private health insurance and state aid (“Beihilfe”). Under this set of conditions, patients are often required to make additional payments. 

For independently paying and private patients, we also offer outpatient care in the OVID Clinic's Outpatient Clinic.  

Please note that costs for outpatient care are not covered by statutory health insurance, except in rare exceptional cases. 

Outpatient Clinic - Initial Contact and Further Treatment

We attach great importance to getting to know all potential patients in an in-depth consultation. After we have had the opportunity to talk to you in detail about your illnesses, previous treatments, life circumstances, and treatment goals, we will offer you a treatment program that suits you and your needs. 

You will then either continue your treatment in the Outpatient Clinic or be admitted to the Day or Evening Clinic as a partial inpatient, meaning that you spend reg. 

We also offer you an extended care concept in the Outpatient Clinic with psychiatric treatment as well as individual and group therapy to bridge the waiting time for admission as a day patient or for follow-up care after discharge from the Day Clinic. 

Please note that we are generally only able to treat patients with statutory health insurance as independent payers. It is usually not possible for statutory health insurance companies to cover the costs. 

Bridging and Aftercare

We also offer an expanded outpatient care concept at our Clinic, providing psychiatric treatment as well as individual and group therapy to bridge the waiting period for admission to our Day Clinic or for follow-up care after discharge. 

If you have transitioned to us from outpatient psychiatric-psychotherapeutic care, you will typically resume your treatment there after your stay at our Day Clinic. Upon request, we can arrange admission and discharge meetings with your outpatient care providers to ensure seamless continuity of treatment.
